The Hou 14 is a fantastic all-round compact canoe. It’s easy to paddle and works well for all skill levels. The hull shape was originally designed by The Peterborough Canoe Company in Canada as a small ‘All Rounder’ canoe that was good at everything, it was remodeled for the European market by Colin Broadway and has remained the same shape ever since.

Hull material: Polyethylene three-layer foam core sandwich.
Standard Spec: Tandem set up with two seats and standard carrying yoke, plus the addition of a sailing seat, fitted kneeling thwart, end lacing, Peak PS air bags and end loops.
Hull shape description: The Hou 14 canoe benefits from a fine entry on the bow and stern combined with a very shallow V hull shape. The fine bow and stern give the boat much greater forward efficiency than other boats of this length and this also vastly improves its directional stability and tracking. The shallow V hull shape allows the boat to be paddled more efficiently with the ability to edge the canoe to affect a turn being greatly assisted by the hull shape.
This canoe is designed for versatility, excelling in both flat water and moving water environments, such as lakes, slow-moving rivers, and calm coastal areas. Its design allows it to handle both casual outings and more demanding adventures, like short trips or overnight expeditions with a light load for one or two people.
The Hou 14 is particularly suited for paddlers of all abilities, it will look after new comers to the sport and also is enjoyed by experts too due to its ease of use, stability, and manoeuvrability.

Usage:
Who: The Hou 14 is great for all abilities from beginner to advanced skilled canoe paddlers.

Where: This boat works well on flat water and gentle moving water alike. The Hou 14 is also great on open water such as large lakes and lochs or estuaries in calm conditions.
